Due to the unbelievable amount of high quality surf spots in the north of Gran Canaria we separated them, for a clear arrangement of the wave madness, from East to West in the zone San Felipe, zone Galdar and zone San Nicolas (north-west coast). To all spots for special service you also get Google-Earth maps delivered. So you also can drive to the most secret and hidden Spots easily by rental car from Las Palmas. Our lodging-advices directly at the surf spots in the north are surf camp Surfguia 2 and sports centre Galdar.
In the north of Gran Canarias not only surf spots are queued up each by each other but also many reasonable and good fish restaurants, relicts of the aborigine’s culture like the cave system Cenobbio de Valeron and Verdugado, the place of worship Tagoror Gallego (with wonderful view over the surf spots of the zone San Felipe) or the relicts of village El Agujero are directly located at the spots. Furthermore calm and authentic fishing villages like the Caleta de Arriba or Sardina and natural stone swimming pools like in the small village El Agujero are waiting for nosy and adventuresome surfers. Also dreamlike are the cliffs Barranco de Moya and Hormiguero, which are reachable from surf camp Surfguia 2 by foot.
A surfing holiday at the north coast of Gran Canarias offers in particular one thing: aplenty of nature and lashings of awesome surf spots where every now and then a wave can be had completely for oneself.
